Marketing & Communications at Boston Children’s works closely with a vendor making sure the online reputation of our 1,500+ providers and locations are accurately being displayed across the top patient ratings and reviews websites: Google Plus, Healthgrades, Vitals, RateMDs, Yelp and Yellow Pages. We have approached the online reputation of our providers in three steps:

  1. We provide our vendor with a pre-templated spreadsheet detailing our providers, including contact information, a link to respective department website and/or Find-a-Doc profile and a Boston Children’s branded headshot. (Need a new photo? Schedule online now)
  2. It is crucial we submit any provider changes via the vendor and allow them to put forth any updates. Some platforms allow manual updating by anyone (i.e. Google Plus, Vitals) and others require a registered account (i.e. Bing Local). We recommend submitting a remedy ticket requesting a change and avoiding making any corrections. Manually updating a profile may interfere with the work and analytic reporting sent back to us if the vendor is unaware of it.
  3. An edit to a profile typically takes a few days, depending on the requested platform data change. In some instances we will try our best to expedite update requests. While these reputation audits do take time to go through given the amount of providers, we pay close attention to the profiles and compare to the provider’s Find-a-Doc profile.
